Triple the Sketch!

Go check it out over HERE!! Patter teamed up with Shimmerz and got some AMAZING results!! You can view the original sketch here, as well as all of the shimmery submissions from the first round of samples. I made a tag and a card (of course!) :)

And the closeup...I used Gold Glimmer Blingz on the white flower (AWESOME LOOK!) and Indigo Shimmerz on the gray one.

And my card

Remember how I had inked up a backgrounder with Versamark and then used my Baby's Breath Spritz sprayed all over it and then stamped? I did the same thing here using the Medallion backgrounder by Stampin' Up! I just LOVE the look! So here's the closeup. :)

Hope you enjoyed the samples and maybe were even inspired to make something from the sketch yourself!! Scratch that...be sure and make your own creation using the sketch and post on the blog post HERE to be entered to win your own Shimmerz!!! Deadline is Thursday, September 3rd. Good luck! :)

Swap time!

It's been a loooong time since I've participated in a swap...I think it was actually some time last year! I didn't even make a single swap card for Convention *gasp*! I must admit though, it was a pretty stress-free convention prep. So anyway, I got invited to a shoebox swap at my upline's upline's house and I jumped at the chance! These are some great stampers so I'm totally excited to attend. :) Oh yeah.....the pic above is my swap cards fully made.

And the materials I'll be bringing. Since there is kind of a lot going on with the card, I decided to do most of the legwork for them. :)

I hope that they like my card!

Thanks for stopping in, and getting "in stamping mode." :)

Backgrounds are for Foregrounds!

So I got to participate in a swap hosted by Shimmerz and Cornish Heritage Farms and I worked with a beautiful backgrounder called Art Nouveau. I must say, I was perplexed at how I would be able to use this and ONLY this, but I successfully worked it! I decided to bring my background to my foreground...and well, here's how it turned out!

I really had to give myself a little pat on the back...I just loved how it turned out! And of course, I had to use my Baby's Breath spritz for added Shimmer. You can see it better here. :)

On another note, today was my son's first day of Kindergarten!!! It was a very exciting day for him and in his words, it was just plain, "AWESOME!" I, on the other hand, was pretty emotional all morning. I think this is normal! Here's my little sweetie in his new classroom. :)

Thanks so much for stopping in!

Using Shimmerz on your stamps!

So I always like to come up with creative ways to use my Shimmerz and I always give myself a little pat on the back when I see the result. :) I did not disappoint myself today, LOL! I used Shimmerz Spritz TWICE on this card...wooohoo!! First, I inked up my background stamp in Versamark and then used my Mudpie Spritz (which is a yummy chocolate color) all over it and then stamped my image. That French script you see as the background was entirely shimmery! Here's a close up. :)

Ooooooohhh...aaahhhh, I know! haha! I also used some Shimmerz Spritz in Bamboo Leaf all over my glittered chipboard. Double oooooohhhh, aahhhhhhh!

You may need to click on the picture to get a better view. Oh! The layout was inspired by the latest sketch challenge over on Splitcoast.

Thanks so much for stopping in and have a GREAT weekend! :)

I am a weapon of massive consumption

Subject says it all! I love to buy stamps! LOL! Here's a card (with a purpose!) that I made for the MOJO Monday sketch.

This is a Stampin' Up! only card using the stamp set Friends 24-7...which I just love! The designer paper is from the retired Parisian Breeze specialty pack. Oh yeah...instead of doing a scalloped circle behind the "greeting," I stamped the damask in Chocolate Chip craft ink repeatedly 4 times and then embossed with clear embossing powder. I think the effect looks cool! :)

Ok, making this short and sweet. I need to become a weapon of massive consumption again over at Target, LOL. Hope you have a great one and thanks for getting, "in stamping mode." :)

Taylored Expressions Friday Friend!

Yes! That is me!!! I'm thrilled that I was selected to be Taylored Expressions Friday Friend! Here's a snippet of the card featured over on the Stamp a Sweet Impression Blog.

And here is another card that I created for the sketch challenge. :)

I just love this berry set! I think the images are just so fresh and yummy! Definitely still in the summer spirit here. :)

As for me...I'm headed to Archiver's this evening to scrap and gab. Probably more gabbing going on than scrapping! I swear, it always takes me an hour to pack all my craft room, and then I get there, don't even use a quarter of what I brought and MAYBE finish one project, LOL! Do you find you do the same? :) Wish me luck!

Convention photos

Hi everyone! I wanted to share some highlights of some great projects I found as well as links to my gallery of 400+ convention photos. :)

There was a Halloween display (and I just love Halloween) and ornaments decorated on a black tree. This was one of them.

...and another

This was a scrapbook page that I thought was simply divine on a display board. Kudos to whoever made it...I just LOVE it!

A way to show off those buttons and crochet flowers...wish I had the time to do this!

This hat was propped on a headboard of a display princessy girly bedroom. Soooo pretty.

And finally...would you believe these are digitally made cards?!?!? These are completely 2D with ZERO embellishments on them! Don't they look amazing?!? I'm sooooo making my photo Xmas cards this way just as soon as My Digital Studio is released!

Want to see more of my Convention photos?? Click on the links below and enjoy!! I'm so happy I was able to share with you. :)

Convention

I'm back!! Actually typing this up in the awards ceremony.. Which is fabooo! This first picture is of the exclusive Stampin up build a bear!! She has the SU logo cutely stitched on the bottom of her paw, SU apron, and yes a genuine stamp!!!! See what it says?? "Life without stamps.... Unbearable!". How cut is that?!

Display board... One of many!

Simple yet striking snowflake card.
And since I can't figure out how to scroll down to add text to the next couple if pics.. The next one is of a scrapbook with stencil and the last pic is of a gorgeous bedroom display. That little banner was soo cute and the sparkle was blinding. Love it!! Ok, back to enjoy the awards. Until tomorrow....

Convention has begun!

First of all, please forgive the low quality pictures!! These were all taken on my iPhone, but I figured better something than nothing. :).
This first picture is of the new Build a Bear set and dies!! The middle is an adorable gift bag and you could make matching cards!! Too cute.

This second one is the cute party theme.

This is the suuuuper cute and soft hoodie that has the razzleberry stamp set designs and In Colors on them. Had to have it!

Finally, this dress is entirely made from paper!! From the adorable dsp flowers to the ruffled waistline!! Just awesome!

I'm out for now but hope to post more in the coming days.
