Whew!! That was a lot to share, right?! Well, I am excited that it is time for another fabulous release from Taylored Expressions, and today I am going to share two projects with you.

First let me begin with...Relax...

Ahhh, this just makes me want to kick back on a beach with a nice frosty beverage and enjoy the sights and the sounds of the beach. I'm THRILLED about this set! Sooo many images and perfect for our upcoming family vacation to the beach this summer. The set is entitled A Day in Paradise and was illustrated by the very talented, Nancy McKinney for the Whimsical Wishes line of stamps. This is a sophisticated Cape Cod themed beach set featuring 21 solid and open lined images perfect for card making, scrapping, home decor projects...let your imagination go wild! I am also sneaking in a little peek at the new Border Wave die. :) I went a little clean and simple and did some paper-piecing using My Mind's Eye Stella Rose Gertie for my patterned paper here. I colored my beach chairs in with Copics in E53, E55, and E59, and topped with ribbon and called it done. I love this card!!

Next is the super adorable Surf's Up set, illustrated by Doug Applegate for the Apple Doodle Ink line of stamps....

I just ADORE these little penguins and this little guy ready to cut some waves especially! I used the Wave Border die here again and love it layered on itself to really make it pop up! I stamped this cutie with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored him in with Copics. Patterned paper is entirely from Pink Paislee's Hometown Summer. Super adorable, am I right?! :)

Well, the rest of the Bakers' with Taylor and Jami have even more to share with you so make sure you hop around for some wonderful inspiration! Also, don't forget to stop back by tomorrow for even MORE sneaks leading up to the big release this Friday, June 3rd at 8 AM PST!

My inspiration - a wall hanging

Hey everyone and happy Memorial Day to you!!

I don't know if you have seen one of the latest posts over at The Crafty Scrapper, but they just published a post with a project I created for them that will be displayed this upcoming weekend at the Great American Scrapbooking Convention up in Arlington! I plan on making a trip up there this Saturday, so I hope you are going and can take a peek at all the awesome things they will have for sale (I read something about them having the new summer release from Maya Road!) Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed creating this project and I hope you will enjoy it too! :)

The paper that I used was entirely from Crate Paper's Portrait collection and it worked out beautifully. I used plenty of goodies from Maya Road (chipboard, zipper trim, flowers, etc) and rubons from my stash as well as stamps from Technique Tuesday.

I stamped "We thank God for you every single day" to the right of Catie's picture across the patterned paper AND fabric tape and it turned out just perfect! This is from the Ali Edward's set, Loving Words.

I also stamped "Live in the moment Love life" from the set Love Always Wins. Love that these sets are so wonderful paired with scrapping!

And finally, I used the Love Always Wins set again to stamp the large Love sentiment next to my pictures of Harrison. :)

This was a very fun project to put together, and you can find all of the supplies at the Crafty Scrapper store (you can order through them by calling!)

Thanks so very much for your visit and I will be back tomorrow with the beginning of sneaks for the June Taylored Expressions release!

TESC 139 - Sending You Smiles

Good morning and happy Friday to you!!! It's that time again, for the latest sketch challenge with Taylored Expressions. I hope you were able to play along in the last challenge...remember that you have almost a full two weeks to create your submission and post on over in the TE Splitcoast Gallery with the key words TESC###! You can find all the details regarding the sketch, prizes, and submission details in the TE Splitcoast forum HERE! And now, without further ado, here is the sketch from which to create from!

Sooo many possibilities with this sketch....I can't wait to see what you all create with it! In the mean time, here is my take on it using the newly release set, Summer Wreath.

I used papers from Webster's Ladies & Gents and Trendsetter paper pack and stamped my wreath (off one time) in Memento Rich Cocoa and just easily colored the flowers of the wreath with R20 and R22 Copic markers. I also snuck in one of these adorable new Webster's Pages Butterfly pins onto my card. Can you find it? LOL!

Alrighty, it's time to take a look at what the rest of the sketch crew has to share with you! We also have 2 new guests! Check them out...

Have a great weekend and I'll see you back soon. :)

I also have a little sneak of a project I made using some more Technique Tuesday stamps on a 3D project I created!

I just love that the stamps work so well on both cards AND scrapbooking projects.

A Moka Thanks

Have you seen the new Moka girls that just released this month for Taylored Expressions?? I didn't get a chance to play with the girls, but I positively DO adore them!!! And as I was perusing through the latest Clean and Simple challenge over on Splitcoast to use GIFT as your inspiration...well, I knew exactly what I was going to do! :) You'll see why...

Why...is that a gift bag she's hiding behind her hip? I do believe so!! Oh my goodness just too cute! I enjoyed pulling out my Copics and quickly coloring her up pretty. :) This adorable Moka is Moka Olivia, and you too can have her for only $7.95!! She also comes with a few sentiments and I just grabbed the short but sweet Thanks! I went REAL clean and simple for this one...no thrills here. Just simply stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black on my favorite cardstock for coloring with Copics, Choice Snow White. What do you think? Clean and simple can be so hard for me...resisting that urge to add more...DO more, lol! She gets to shine here though, and I do believe I like it. :)

Thanks for stopping by!!

Best Friend. Ever

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a lovely weekend. The weather here couldn't have been any more ideal. With temps in the 70s (Fahrenheit) and not a cloud in the sky, we headed out for a little "camping" trip in our RV. It was just a perfect little getaway. :)

But before I headed out, I needed to play with some freshly arrived goodies from Technique Tuesday....you know how priorities go? :) Well, if you haven't heard already, Technique Tuesday has begun selling high quality Watercolor Crayons, 50 different colors of seam binding, and various colors of felt! I haven't gotten my hands on the crayons (YET!) but I couldn't wait to play with the seam binding and felt. Check it out....

The paper is also the new Perspectives line that released at Winter CHA. I love that it has my favorite Ali Edwards set with the sentiments imprinted on the paper. :) So, I got my inspiration for this card from the latest Splitcoast Sketch Challenge and went from there. I chose to make a rolled rose from my pretty felt, and, of course, I had to scrunch my seam binding up to make some pretty bows. The sentiment (which I just ADORE) is from the Sweet Sentiments set. And I think that just about wraps that up! It's shaping up to be a really busy week so I better get cranking.

Thanks so much for the visit! :)

TESC 138 - It's a Girl

Hello everyone!! Sorry I am coming to you late on the Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge. Blogger imploded and was down for a couple days and actually had to be restored from backups from Wednesday. Someone made a serious boo-boo! Anyway! The Sketch Challenge thread was still able to go up on the Splitcoast forum, so I hope you were able to check it out there or on the other Sketch Challenge players blogs who don't use Blogger!

This was our lovely sketch for the week and I was just dying to be able to use the freshly minted Bringing Home Baby set. It was a bit of a challenge to make that particular set work with this sketch but I think I was able to pull it off! Check it...

I pulled out the remainder of the Emma's Shoppe Project Pantry from last month to put together my card....absolutely love those papers! And although the kits are sold out from the store, I see that the paper pad is still available HERE! Just a little enabling for ya there. ;) I used the smaller images from the set on my card here...and there are so many to choose from! I just chose the ones that I thought would make a good girl card. :) All the chipboard hearts come from Maya Road's Hearts Chipboard, Love Mini Chipboard, and Mixed Scallop Mini Pendant Chipboard sets. I created my pennant flag for the It's a Girl sentiment from the Nested Pennants die by Spellbinders and, of course, had to use some scrunched seam binding from my stash to make a pretty bow there at the bottom of the card. I just couldn't go without having some ribbon on my card somewhere!! :)

I hope you are inspired to put something together for the challenge and, if you do, don't forget to post it over in the Splitcoast gallery using the keywords TESC138!!!! Also make a post about it on the forum thread HERE so we all know to take a look-see! :)

Here are the links to all of the players and guests to inspire you more!

Have a WONDERFUL weekend and thanks so much for stopping by!

Taylored Expressions May Release is Here

Hello everyone and welcome to the May release of stamps and accessories for Taylored Expressions! All of the goodies you have been seeing this week are NOW available for purchase in the TE store and you can see them all consolidated in the Fresh Out of the Oven tab HERE! And just in case you needed a bit more inspiration before you are off to shop, we all have a little something different to share with you today.

I got to play one more time with the It's in the Bag set with coordinating Shopping Bag and Labels Die set. And since I always attempt at making at least one CAS card per release, my time was due!

I was completely inspired by THIS CAS card and totally CASEd it. :) Wow, that's a lot of CAS there, isn't it? I loved dressing up my little gift bag with some yummy trims from Maya Road. Totally looks like a bag you would carry around, right??

I completely forgot to take a side view of the bag yesterday just to give you an idea of how it looks and so, here ya are! :) The die makes it soooo easy to use, you are just going to love it! I think it's just pure genius...I only wish I could think of these things myself!

Ok, keeping this short and sweet since I know you have some blog hopping and then shopping to do!

If you hadn't noticed, we welcomed a new addition to the Baker's Dozen this release and I am so excited that Wanda Guess has joined us! We are also welcoming a new Guest Designer for the next two months and that is none other than the fabulous Amber Hight!! She will be joining us today to show off some release projects so I hope you can give her a nice big warm welcome!

Enjoy the shopping and please do share what goodies you bought!! :)

Taylored Expressions Sneak Peek - Day 3

Hello everyone and welcome back to Day 3 of sneaks for the big release tomorrow morning, May 5 at 8 AM PST!! Don't forget that everything you are seeing (and loving?!?) will be available for purchase. Today we have a LOT to share with you and not everyone will be sneaking the same new sets, so be sure to check out what we all have in store with you today. :) Just a hint...there's a whole NEW collection being peeked today.

But without further ado, I wanted to first share a totally cool new set called, It's in the Bag. This set was illustrated by our super talented, Nancy McKinney for her Whismical Wishes line of stamps. It is a set of 27 deeply etched rubber images that feature tiny shopping bags for all different kinds of occasion! It's such a fun set and I couldn't wait to put something together as a year end gift for teacher (what with the end of school quickly approaching!) And let me just add, there IS a coordinating Mini Shopping Bag and Labels DIE. It's awesome. See??

Can you see it?! See that little shopping bag hanging there from my bow? That is it! Oh my, this set comes with all kinds of goodies! The little striped pattern is actually 1 of 3 different kinds that you can stamp right on your bag...and it fits perfectly! And that little label with coordinating die...I just can't contain myself!!! So yeah...this was a QUICK and easy project to put together and makes a great gift for anyone!

I started with the Tea Tin...

Painted it white with acrylic paint...

Cut out a small piece of patterned paper (shown right above) and used Mod Podge to adhere it to only one side of the tin...this cuts out a lot of work. :) Then, I just tied some ribbon around the top and attached my mini bag right to it! I cut a small tag to fit inside the bag and used the "to/from" from A Little Love to finish it off and voila! All done! I put a baggie of candies inside and I'm all set.

I tell ya, I'm a big fan of quick and easy!! :)

Now onto my next project to share! This features the Summer Wreath Petite stamp set which is a continuation of Jami's concepted wreath series. It coordinates perfectly with the Seasonal Wreath die...which I just couldn't resist using again here!

I went a bit out of my comfort zone with this card, but I really like it! It's different but still shabby. :) And I just have to point out...see the linen-like pattern on top of my outer chipboard center there? That's actually one of the stamp patterns from the set, It's in the Bag. Yeah...I can see myself reaching for that little gem of a set a lot! But back to Summer Wreath. :) I chose not to color in the pretty flowers on the wreath this time and really let those butterflies from the set shine. I love that there are 3 of them in different positions that look just beautiful on the wreath! I used some Webster's Pages patterned paper here and the chipboard is Love Notes from Maya Road. I also couldn't resist adding a little Webster's Pages Flower Whimsie on top of my seam binding bow for good measure. :)

I hope you have enjoyed everything you have seen today!! Be sure and stop by the rest of the Bakers blogs for more sneaks. I can't wait to see them myself! I didn't get a chance to play with the new collection but I sure can't wait to get my hands on them! :)

Taylored Expressions Sneak Peek - Day 2

Hello everyone and welcome back to Day 2 of sneak peeks for the big release when all the stamps, dies, and accessories will be available for purchase. That big day is this coming Thursday, May 5th at 8 AM PST. Only 2 short days away!!!!

Today, the Bakers will be sneaking TWO full sized sets... Bringing Home Baby and Baby Cakes. Bringing Home Baby is a set designed by our talented Nancy McKinney for the Whimsical Wishes line of stamps and features GREAT images for building a scene or even alone featuring all the wonderful baby items you'll find in that newly decorated nursery. Baby Cakes has brought back Cuppie, illustrated by Jessie Olson, in full baby form and you will just love all the baby scenes Cuppie puts herself in. :) Wanna see what I mean??

There's that precious Cuppie baby!!! I just couldn't resist using her in the baby carriage...sooo stinkin' adorable!!! I used patterned paper from the coordinating Alphabet Soup Girl Project Pantry here and the Hearts Impression Plate. Can you see also where I brought in the It's a Banner Day 3 stamp set with it's coordinating die?? I told you I'd get betting a heck of a lot of use out of it!! :) And in case you are interested, here are the Copics I used...

I used a wee bit more Copics on my next card for Bringing Home Baby....check it!

I adore that quilt!!! So many great things you could do with it and even smaller images you can stamp on it to give it some flavor. :) I just love it! Here again I used quite a bit of the Alphabet Soup Girl Project Pantry with coordinating ribbon and die cut cardstock piece (behind the sentiment). Can you believe that these kits are priced at only $9.95?! This particular kit includes:
12 8.5"x11" sheets of cardstock (2 each of 6 designs)
27 4"x6" sheets of double-sided pattern paper (3 sheets each of 9 patterns from My Mind's Eye)
Want2Scrap Pink Baby Bling
3 yards of ribbon (1 yard each of 3 different styles)
15 Mini Safety Pins (5 each of 3 different colors)
Coordinating Die Cut Embellishments

I stamped the Congratulations sentiment inside the card so that you could give it to the parents of that happy new little bundle of a girl! I'm just so tickled by this release!! I need to now talk more of my friends into having babies, lol! Of course, I created all of these girl cards and it TOTALLY means that Taylor will have a boy...cause that's just how my luck works...just sayin'!

Now I can't wait to see what everyone else has to share with you today...let's check them out, shall well? :)

Taylored Expressions Sneak Peek - Day 1

Happy beginning of May to you all!! I can't believe April has come and gone so quickly and the last month of school is already upon us...whaaaat?! Oh well! One good thing about the beginning of the month is that sneaks begin for the latest Taylored Expressions release of stamps. And I hope you have visited Taylor's blog...in particular for THIS post for some really big news AND a contest! :)

So if you are just coming back from visiting Taylor's blog and/or already know the big news, you may have surmised that this release is all about BABY!! Today, the Bakers and friends will be sneaking for you a NEW Giving Tree stamp set, Welcome Little One, FOUR new a la Cartes, Invitation, Announcement, Welcome Baby, and Heart Frame a la Carte, and finally, TWO new dies to match....the Frame it Up 2 die and Bracket Frame die. WOW!! Now THAT was a mouthful. :)

Before I share my project for you, just wanted to mention that all of the things that we'll be sneaking for you in the following days will be available for purchase this coming THURSDAY, May 5th at 8 AM PST. All of the stamps are on cling mounted deeply etched rubber and come with their own panel for easy storage. Also, the Welcome Little One stamp set is the latest in a series of special Giving Tree sets for the quarter. For the months of May, June and July when you purchase this set you'll be helping to support Bethany Christian Services, the nation's largest adoption agency. BCS also cares for women facing unplanned pregnancies as well as orphans living on 5 continents. Their comprehensive services include adoption, temporary foster care, counseling, training, and family support knowing that children thrive in safe, loving, and strong families. Taylored Expressions will donate $7.00 to Bethany Christian Services for each Welcome Little One stamp set sold in the next 3 months.

So with all that said...let me show you some of these goodies, right?!

This card is actually a BABY ANNOUCEMENT! I stamped 6 varying images from the Welcome Little One set on the background of my card to making my own "patterned baby paper." :) I then used the bracket stamp and die cut using the coordinating Bracket Frame die, one of the sentiments from the set. I stamped it on patterned paper from the latest Project Pantry Kit, Alphabet Soup - Girl....yes, there are even new Project Pantry kits in boy and girl to match!!

And on the inside of the card I used more patterned paper from the kit and die cut using the Frame It Up 2 die to create a place to snugly set in my newborn wallet-sized picture of new baby. :) (This is actually Catie's pictures when she was just a week old 3 years ago!!)

And finally, the entire inside of the card where I stamped a panel with the Announcement a la Carte stamp to easily fill in all of the appropriate baby information. Whew!!! That's a lot of information, right?!

And I just have to mention...the Welcome Little One set was illustrated by Taylor herself as part of the *te* Collection of stamp sets. So proud of her! When you receive yours in the mail, as a bit of an FYI, this particular set will need to be trimmed prior to use. Since it is a part of the Giving Tree series, these sets are the only ones that will not be pre-trimmed for you!

Ok, off to visit what the rest of the Bakers plus friends!!
