Ok, let's celebrate!

As promised, I've got some candy to give! First, let's start with a little eye candy. I got my Stampin' Up! order a couple of days ago and IMMEDIATELY had to play. This is my "Wish Big" birthday card following the layout from Splitcoast Sketch Challenge #212. All supplies are from Stampin' Up! I used the new Parisian Breeze Specialty designer paper, and let me tell you this paper is AWESOME! It's textured and super thick cardstock weight. I ran my background Baja Breeze cardstock through one of the new texture plates (harlequinn pattern) and then took a white gel pen at all the intersections...I love doing this for interest! I also ran a piece of the Baja Breeze cardstock through the Simple Flower embosslit, but wasn't happy with the "flat" look it had. I wanted some texture, so I ran another piece of baja cardstock through my texure plate with woodgrain look. Voila! This made my cardstock look like textured cardstock (without paying the extra $$!) I then ran a small piece of that through the embosslit and it kept the texture! I was just tickled with my little discovery. :)

See the goodies over here on the left? That is the Flight of the Butterfly stamp set, Best Yet hostess set, package of Flirty ribbon, and Loves Me designer paper (only missing 1 sheet.) Be sure to leave me a comment on this post telling me your most embarrassing moment!! (I expect some good laughs) :) You will have until Wednesday, January 28th at 11:59 PM to leave your comment and I will announce a winner on Thursday. Good luck!

Lastly, I wanted to share some awesome hand-stamped birthday cards I received. Enjoy!

An embarrassing moment? Well, once I was getting a ride from a friend's parents (we were probably 13 or so) to the mall or somewhere and we passed some condos. I said excitedly, "Those are just like the CONDOMS my grandparents live in." Eep!

I love what you did with the Parisian paper. I didn't like it at first (in the catalog) but now it looks beautiful! Great job!

My most embarrassing moment: I was an exchange student in Finland for one year. While learning the language I had MANY embarrassing moments, but the worst one happened in school. I was trying to tell my class that my grandparents were both alive and not very old. Instead of saying old "vanha" I said another "v" word I had recently learned, "vittu." In Finnish it is the equivalent of "dropping the F bomb." The whole class looked confused, began laughing, and when one of my friends told me what I had said I was ten shades of red. I did not live it down either. I would often get asked "How are those f#@*ing Grandparents of yours?"

I once walked out of the bathroom and work with my dress neatly tucked into my pantyhose. I proceeded not to walk back to my office, but to walk down the hall and into the breakroom. In the breakroom, I walked across the room and opened the fridge door, with my butt exposed. Left the breakroom and back to the front office before someone stopped me.. Yeah, we have laugh for YEARS about this

i would have to say that themost embarrassing moment was when i was in high school. a few friends and i were office helpers...you know we made copies and stuff for the school office workers. well...we were goofing around one day and tried to photo copy the directions inside of condom boxes...lol....and the machine jammed up!!! we took our pictures out of the copy machine and went to the office lady for assistance. she opened the door and pulled out the spot where the apper would jam and there it was....a picture of how to put on a condom...right up there....for the world to see! she just looked at us and snickered....we could have just died!!!!! oh my...what a teenager thinks is funny.....

Your card is beautiful, so soft - how did I miss that designer paper? I am going to have to get some. And I also love the bittersweet dsp from BasicGrey.

Congrats on getting some new stuff to play with already and what a great card! Alas, no new stuff for me...YET!

Hmm...I don't think I can top those embarrassing moments listed...OY! But I have one...when I was in college I was getting ready for class in the dark because my roommate was still asleep and I ended up going to my classes with one green shoe and one blue shoe on for the day. What was stranger is that I was wearing blue and green that day!

You are definitely getting your money's worth with this blog candy...there are some funny stories here!

Love your blog Melissa! Your cards are so neat! My most embarrassing moment is pretty tame, I got dressed in the dark one day as I did not want to wake up the rest of the household. I then arrived at work, only to be told a couple hours later that my blouse was on inside out! LOL!

My most embarassing moment was my senior year in HS. I was looking for a really "fine" tennis bracelet to go with my prom ensemble. I was shopping with my sister at the mall and we stopped by the jewelry case. I found a bracelet and asked the salesman how much it was. He said that the one I selected was nine. I was so happy. I got out a ten and thought I had another thing checked off my list. He snickered and said, "Oh, nine thousand." HA--off to Accessory Lady for me! Maybe the first clue should have been that it was INSIDE the case!! :)

When my great-grandmother died (I was 8 or 9) and we were sitting Shiva (kind of like a wake, but after the burial), all of my relatives were there. I didn't get to see them often and was enjoying spending time with them. I said, "this party is really great!" Everyone was quick to remind me it wasn't a party!

You won't believe this but when I was in my teens wrap around skirts were in style. Well I guess when I picked up my handbag it got caught on the wrap around and I went off walking with my butt showing.

Your cards are lovely, I can't wait to place an order after February 1st. What a great blog you have into my favews it goes.

I've had plenty of embarrassing moments in my life, but most of the recent ones have been courtesy of the nutbar I chose to marry over 6 years ago.

While at a party (thankfully mostly his friends), we were discussing the "seven minute lull" where a topic kind of dies out after approximately seven minutes and everyone gets quiet while they try to think up something new. During one of these lulls, my DH loudly said, "...and then I had my {censored} laminated!" It was intentional, but it was loud as if he were in the middle of a conversation and the sudden silence made him sound louder than he would have normally been.

PS I'll be happy to tell you what word I censored, if you really want to know. ;)

Wow what fantastic candy and your blog is amazing!!!
My most embarrassing moment has to be when I left the bathroom at the office with some toilet paper that somehow got tucked into my clothes!! it wasn't long before a colleague told me why they were all laughing!! Needless to say, I always check everything before I leave the bathroom now!!

Oh, your card is MAHVELOUS!!!!! You used so many fun things on this card and it all looks fantastic.

My whole life has been one embarrassing moment after another. My latest one was going to someone's home and not realizing that there was a clear glass door in front of the wood one. I walked right into it - and left a big smudge right where my nose hit it!

OH I might be too late!! It is 12:02 here! LOL

Most embarrassing moment: my fiance and I were in the kitchen (when we were just dating, I was helping my mom out) and I dropped a whole frozen chicken on my foot!! I was so embarrassed because he then knew I was a clumsy gal! LOL He still makes fun of me for it. My foot was sore for a long time.

LOL OK now THAT was an embarrasing moment!!!! It's only TUESDAY. . . Well in my defense, I didn't go to class today because I was sick this morning so I am thrown off. . .

I love those cards, especially the cupcake one.

My most embarassing moment was 2 Christmas' ago. We were at my parent's house and went out for a walk on Christmas eve. WE ran into an elderly couple and we "thought" they invited us to come by as they were having a karaoke party. We thought that the house they lived in was a assisted nursing private home. We went over and when there was no answer to our knock and we could hear people out back, so we went ahead and went in. It was only after visiting, we realized it was a private house that we just walked into!

My most recent embarrassing moment was a few years ago when I commissioned into the Army. The ceremony went great, and the very last thing was to get my first salute from an enlisted service member. (remember, I was brand new, didn't know the ropes yet - and I was extremely nervous!) So, in front of the audience, I was saluted to - and I saluted back - and we just stood there facing each other, holding our salutes (this went on for about 10 seconds - a LONG time!). The enlisted member whispered to me that since I was the higher ranking officer, I was to lower my hand first, and then he would follow. HA! Everyone laughed and we had a great time, but boy was I red in the face after that!! :o)

Oh well, that's life!
Thanks for offering up some delicious goodies!

Oh - we were on vacation with 2 other families and my then 3 year old (who was potty trained) got thrown for a loop when she had to go #2 at the water's edge and proceeded to go in her bathing suit. You could see the lump in her bottoms - I was mortified!

One of embarrassing moments, I have tons of ones but this one still on going after all this years:

A few years back, when I had just started to work at a beauty retail store, we were getting the store ready for inventory the night before. I was organizing the hair accessories section when my store manager walked up to me to ask if I needed any help. Well, since was was fairly new to the store I said sure. My manager started helping me out, working a few feet away. Now, that same night I was having stomach problems, and I was very gassy. A few minutes go by, and I let one go, forgetting there was anyone around. I remembered too late who was there, and started fanning it away, as it was terrible. Unfortunately, I was fanning it in the wrong direction. My manager started looking around, and said “Do you smell something burning?” Then she noticed that I was still fanning, and said “Did you fart?!” I was so embarrassed. I said, “yes” and turned red as a tomato. She told me that I should be fanning it in the other direction, and not towards her.

To this day she still tells people about the Inventory fart!! she laughs every single time she talks about it so she gets to embarrass me every time I see her. But I still love her.

I justed get embarrassed all the time due to english being my second language. We laugh now but it wasn't that funny at the time

Hi Melissa,Well, one of my most embarrassing moments was at Luby's when I was about 9 or 10. My Mom had recently taken me to get my hair cut VERY short. It was one of those awful 'boy' cuts that looked like the hairdresser put a bowl on top of my head & cut around it. It was awful, I remember crying at the hairdresser because I didn't want to get my hair cut. (My Mom is a nurse & she left around 5:30 a.m. every morning to go to work. This alleviated any 'hair' issues I had in the morning with my Dad before school.)Being that I was around the age of 10 I was not wearing make-up or developing in the chest area (if you get my drift.) We met some family friends at Luby's a lot & one night after recently getting my hair cut, I went into the restroom. There were two other girls in there saying to me "This is the girls bathroom, you look like a boy." I was so mortified & they wouldn't believe me. I was so embarrassed when I got back to the dinner table, I'll never forget that night. Don't worry, I look like a girl now-thank God ;-)

Embarrassing moment? HMMM, will maybe the time I overslept and ran in just in time to teach my 5:30 am aerobics class, had over 30 people there, including a visiting fitness celebrity, and realized that I had left ALL of my music at home! It was awful!
