...and I don't mean the show Grey's Anatomy...which I LOVE...it's the other gray, which I definitely do not love. You see, my hair is very dark brown, almost black really. And, I swear, not two days after my wedding (7.5 years ago) I noticed my first gray hair. Thus began my love affair with the tweezers. Is this too personal? If so, just bypass the mambo jumbo and scroll down to the card pic. :) Anyway, up until this time, I've happily tweezed the life out of every living gray that even had an inkling of a thought that it would settle down comfortably to a plush life on my head. I don't really believe in the old wive's tale that says if you pluck one, two will return, BUT it's gotten to the point where there's no longer much of a hunt for them anymore. You get my drift? This was cutting into my stamping time!! Therefore...I have finally embraced my grays. And when I say "embrace," I don't mean a loving embrace. It's more like a manly embrace. The kind where you see two men half-hug, not making eye contact_looking behind their shoulder with a big whack on each other's backs, kind of embrace. Have any tips for good dyes? :)
Now on to show a card I made for a Big Shot swap I participated in. I chose the Scallop #2 die to feature on my card. Since I had made tons of cupcakes for another swap, I stuck with it and used Crazy for Cupcakes on this one. This was actually the prototype and the actual card I submitted had the bottom "happiness" part made into a tag attached with pink tafetta. Here goes...
All products Stampin' Up!
Stamps: Crazy for Cupcakes, Heard from the Heart, Paisley background
Paper: Whisper White, Regal Rose, Shimmery White
Ink: Regal Rose, Pink Pirouette, Black Staz-On
Accessories: Versamarker, Big Shot and Scallops #2, Coluzzle, White Gel pen, Liquid Applique, 1/16" hole punch
I will close with a challenge to myself and to you as well! Make a card (or anything for that matter).....and incorporate gray! :)
Have a great day!

hi - i found your blog thru scs - i have sark brown hair, almost black and have become a host for many many gray hares... HATE them -oh and they are coarse as can be and wire-y - lovely! i use a 28 day wash out color - i think it is called espresso - i have found that staying non permanant looks the best with hair as dark as ours (i have white, white, white, almost skim milk colored skin as well!) this seems to help the silver hairs tone down a bit, gloss up the rest all the while staying pretty natural looking - hope this helps!
